While the summer months have flown by, it has not been without another spectacular round of Middlesex Summer Receptions.  Throughout the summer, Middlesex students, parents, alumni and friends gathered at five different locations across the country to enjoy each other's company and reconnect with their alma mater.

Receptions began in mid July with a beautiful event hosted by John Stevens '86 at the Corinthian Yacht Club in San Francisco.  For the second year in a row, attendees soaked in the gorgeous views overlooking Belevedere Cove and enjoyed catching up with other Middlesex alumni and parents.

For the third year in a row, Ben and Janet Howe, parents of Michael '14 and Jamie '17, welcomed friends and family of the school into their home in Martha's Vineyard.  It was a fun-filled evening that was finished off with a round of fireworks and a few games of Spikeball, led by several alumni and current students.

The second week in August called for two inaugural receptions - the first, hosted by Ted '83 and Margot Mehm P'14'17 at the beautiful Hyannisport Club.  The gathering was filled with laughs, and a gorgeous sunset topped off, what was, a very special evening.  This receptions was followed up two night later by an equally as lovely evening in Little Compton, RI at the home of John McCole and Keith Crudgington, parents of Eleanor '16.  Alumni spanning 4 decades were in attendance, including a special appearance from The Honorable William J. Middendorf II '43.

The 2014 summer receptions were capped off last Thursday night in Nantucket, with a well-attended event held at the home of Edward and Barbara Hajim, parents of current trusteee, Corey Hajim '90.  For the fifth year in a row, there was a great turnout of parents, past parents, grandparents, and alumni, young and old, who enjoyed the opportunity to reunite with old friends, meet new ones, and share wonderful stories of their time at Middlesex and beyond.  It was a fantastic way to end a very successful summer of Middlesex Receptions.

Middlesex gatherings are held throughout the year all around the country.  Check out the MX website for more updates on receptions in your area.  If you would like a schedule of events or you are interested in attending one of the aformentioned receptions next year, please email Director of Alumni Relations John Morrissey at jmorrissey@mxschool.edu. We look forward to seeing many more parents, alumni and friends at upcoming Middlesex events throughout 2015.
